In September a group from South Africa was organized and sent to the Caucasus by Tribe Safari. The group was guided by Mr. Andrey Ershov (Ersh Travels, Russia) and Mr. Lance de Willers (Tribe Safari, South Africa). The weather was very bad and we were forced to spend several days on Garabashi (3750 m) and at Blue Hut (4100 m). After three days of snowfall we started our Elbrus climb in deep snow. It was very hard but Mrs. Marzanne Kriel, Mr. David Du Toit and Mr. Lance de Willers could overcome all difficulties and successfully summited Mt. Elbrus on September 6. |
