KUN-LUN - 2007 EXPEDITIONS

In July - August we organized four expeditions for Dutch, Austrian, British and Finnish climbers in the Kun-Lun Mountains, Xinjiang, China. They had very interesting climbing programmes and they all finished very successfully:
  • the Dutch expedition (expedition leader Mr. Roland Valckenborg) did two first ascents of unclimbed peaks 5521 m and 5400 m in the area of the Olimde Glacier and then they climbed new enough Koskulak Peak (7028 m) along the North-West Ridge;
  • the Austrian expedition (expedition leader Mr. Stefan Zechmann) summited Muztagh-Ata (7546 m) along the normal route from the West and then they tried to climb Lenin Peak (7134 m) in Kyrgyzstan;
  • the British expedition (expedition leader Mr. John Allen) worked in the area of the Kuksay Glacier and did four first ascents of unclimbed peaks 4976 m, 5582 m, 5315 m and 5485 m;
  • the Finnish expedition (expedition leader Mr. Teemu Saarikivi, expedition manager Mr. Andrey Ershov) explored a very new area of the Kokosel and Koktak glaciers and summited four unclimbed 6000-m peaks: 6355 m, 6013 m, 6046 m and 6045 m.
